Borderline Personality Disorder Resources on the Internet

Borderline Personality Disorder Email Support Groups

BPD Consumers

BPD Today Borderline Email Support Group This group is a non-moderated support group for those with borderline personality disorder (BPD) or BPD traits only. No families or clinicians.

BPD-UpFromTheAshes Group owner says "The list is intended for all those who suffer from BPD, whether they are at the beginning of recovery, well along into recovery, or anywhere in between. It is meant to be a safe place for those with BPD to come for support.   List members may speak freely without fears of being judged, ridiculed or invalidated. Often I find that other lists concentrate on the devastating effects of BPD, without giving much attention to the hope of recovery. It is hoped that on this list everyone will find an appropriate place, and have a sense of belonging. Specific details of self harm are not to be discussed, however, general statements, such as "I feel like hurting myself today," are allowed."

The Male Perspective You must be a male to join this group. "The list is intended for males who suffer from BPD, whether they are at the beginning of recovery, well along into recovery, or anywhere in between. It is meant to be a safe place for guys with BPD to come for support.   List members may speak freely without fears of being judged, ridiculed or invalidated. Often I find that other lists concentrate on the devastating effects of BPD, without giving much attention to the hope of recovery.   It is hoped that on this list, we'll see stories of recovery, in addition to discussions of the day to day problems that men with BPD face.   I've created this group so that the guys who are affected may have a sense of belonging."

BPD Today DBT Information and Support Support and information group regarding dialectical behavior therapy, a therapy mode treating the borderline personality disorder as well as other mental health disorders.

MH Today Borderline and Bipolar Support Support group sponsored by Mental Health Today. Providing support and information to those with BOTH the BORDERLINE PERSONALITY DISORDER and BIPOLAR DISORDER.

Borderlines-4-Christ "The purpose of this list is to provide a Christian oriented support community for persons struggling with Borderline Personality Disorder. This is an inter-denominational group."

Growthquest - "Quest is a list upon which borderlines, bipolars, sexual abuse survivors, anyone with any mental health issue is invited to discuss religion and or spirituality."

ccaboveand beyond - "This is a Christian Bible study group about women and mental health issues. We welcome all denominations however, we are conservative and evangelical in focus. We see the Bible as the inspired and inerrant Word of God that is sufficient as a handbook for all human behavior."

BPD Family Members

BPD Significant Others Though no formal therapy will take place in this group, members will be encouraged to do the things that heal. Though you will be sharing your experiences with your loved one in your life, you will be encouraged to keep most of the focus on you, to get back in touch with how you are feeling, what you want, what will make you happy, etc. The group can help present options for your life but ultimately you are the one to decide.

Though many of you coming in are experiencing anger, hurt, bitterness, etc., you will be encouraged again, to do the things that heal and get out your present pattern getting you nowhere.

Supervised by Patty Pheil M.S.W., mental health professional.

Child Evaluation

According to Neil Bockian, Ph.D., author of "New Hope for Personality Disorder," the website The Interdisciplinary Council on Developmental and Learning Disorders. Dr. Bockian says "They have a network of therapists who can do evaluations on children of ANY age (down to infants)."

He also says it is possible for a child to have or be diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and says there is a new book out by Paulina Kernberg on that topic called "Personality Disorders in Children and Adolescents."
