Older Borderline Personality Disorder Person In Isolation

I completely agree with the writer describing the isolation of us older BPDers. I'm 43 years old and decided several years ago that I should remove myself from society as much as possible. The only times I leave the house are to get groceries or to go see my Dad, my uncle or my best friend of 30+ years. I've lost all of my many, many friends who, I think, gave up on me as my illness progressed (and was compounded by drug use). I decided that it would be best for me and everyone else to just stay home and away from society, that it would be easier for me and everyone else. I never get lonely because I've got my dog and cat. I'm still married, but I've pretty much retreated from that as well. Works for me!
