Borderline Personality Disorder Family Books

My Most Recommended Book for Families - Includes an excellent family section.

New Hope for People with Borderline Personality Disorder: Your Friendly, Authoritative Guide to the Latest in Traditional and Complementary Solutions by Neil R. Bockian Ph.D., Nora Elizabeth Villagran, Valerie Porr

"I have kept up with all of the BPD books that come out. I just finished this book and I'm not only pleased, I'm stunned!

This book discusses EVERYTHING a consumer would want to know and more. Easy to read. Filled with knowledge about what BPD is, treatment, a special outstanding section for families - you name it, it is here. This book I know will further not only consumer's knowledge of the BPD but it is helpful not only for families but I believe clinician's will learn a great deal for treatment.

The family section reads totally without stigma, is understanding and will help you to understand that you are not alone and some things you can do to help. Stop Walking on Eggshells is a good book and very helpful but it contains some stigma and reads without the heart that this book has. Eggshells just went down a peg when this book came out, sorry to say as I advocated for that book for a long time.

There is no blaming in this book, only help for the families. If you have the BPD or are a family member, this book is priceless. In many cases it is us who have to teach our mental health clinicians how to treat us. I highly recommend getting educated about this disorder and understand that it is treatable. The information is here in this book."
Patty E. Fleener M.S.W.

Stop Walking on Eggshells: Taking Your Life Back When Someone You Care About Has Borderline Personality Disorder ( I believe this book will help many families that are being hurt by borderline behavior. This book will assist families in understanding their loved one's behavior and thinking. It will help them understand what is going on inside the borderline when sometimes all the family can see is chaos. I believe this book will empower many families. It is important to remember that borderlines are not bad people and they (we) do not set out to hurt the very ones we love, but rather their cognitive distortions and chaotic behavior of course hurt those around them severely. This book should help you find your way).
